Whether you’re a yogi or not, the wellness brand Alo is probably on your radar. It’s gained a huge cult-following among Hollywood A-listers in the past couple years, and counts Taylor Swift, Kendall Jenner, Kris Jenner, Gigi Hadid as fans. Beloved for its trendy athleisure and aesthetically pleasing designs, the brand also has a presence in beauty. Its Mega-C Body Wash was a unanimous favorite during our Beauty Awards testing two years ago and won us over. Since then, I’ve fallen in love with several other products in the line, including the adorable little Lip Balm and this Head-to-Toe Glow Oil. Let me tell you what makes it so good.

What We Love About This Body Oil

When it comes to body oils, I typically opt for dry oils that sink quickly into my skin. I don’t love when oil just sits on the surface and I feel like I can’t get dressed without ruining my clothes. This oil has more of a dry oil feel and absorbs fast. But, you still get that pretty sheen on the skin that you expect from an oil. When I started using it continuously, my skin became incredibly soft, too.

When I learned that the vegan formula included a mix of 12 rich, nourishing oils, I was shocked. It doesn’t feel heavy in the slightest. Some of the standout oils include argan, marula, coconut, jojoba, avocado and castor, and together, they deliver incredible moisture and hydration. The oil is also chock-full of antioxidants, including amla, which is rich with vitamin C and one of the most powerful “superberries” found in nature. Antioxidants are critical for healthy skin and help ward off free radicals that cause signs of aging.

It’s also important to note that this oil isn’t solely meant for the body—you can also use it on your face (and even on the ends of your hair). I personally prefer it on my body, but I’ve tried it on my face a few times as well and didn’t experience any breakouts. (It’s also dermatologist-tested and approved.) I also found that it layered really nicely under my foundation and gave me more of a dewy finish.

Lastly, the scent is dreamy. It gives orange creamsicle vibes in a sophisticated, not-too-sweet way. The brand says it’s “naturally fragranced with a bright citrus blend, spice and vanilla base notes.”

Key Ingredients

Argan oil, amla, aloe vera, moringa oil, sea buckthorn and turmeric

How to Use It

Apply it anywhere on your body, including your face. You can also use it in your hair. A little goes a long way, and just a tiny bit can make split ends look better. I like to apply the oil from my neck down when I get out of the shower. It’s a really nice sensorial experience.
