If there is any celebrity who has single-handedly defined the beauty and fashion trends of the last year, it’s Margot Robbie. After changing the world and the entire cultural landscape with her titular role in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, anything Margot Robbie wears on the red carpet, on screen or on the street has pretty much become it-girl gospel.

Whether it was the sea of pink that took over our wardrobes or the desire for lengthy, doll-like blonde strands, Margot Robbie’s Barbie and the press tour and awards show looks that followed have run the beauty world over the last 12 months. Finally transitioning out of her Barbie phase, Robbie just debuted an elevated, mature hair style for spring, and you can bet we’re taking notes.

Margot Robbie Chops Her Strands, Opting for a Spring ‘Lob’

I don’t know about you, but whenever the weather starts to warm up, my mind goes almost immediately to a hair cut. Whether it’s the practicality of sporting less weight in the hotter months or the energy of spring that makes us want to be renewed, spring is the prime time for a big hair change, and Margot Robbie has kicked off the season of transformation with her new ‘lob’ style.

For quite some time now, the bob has been making a comeback amongst A-listers, proving that the shorter look is nowhere near out of style. If you’re not quite sold on going chin length as per the traditional bob style, the ‘lob’—short for the long or longer bob—is a great option, and Robbie’s shoulder-skimming strands are living proof. Swapping her Barbie-girl length for a collarbone-level style, Robbie’s lob is elegant and fresh, making it the perfect, low-maintenance yet high-fashion hair style for spring and summer.
