Chase Stokes is every bit as charming as my friends guessed he’d be when I joined him—virtually on Zoom—with his German Shepherd-Golden Retriever mix, Milo, by his side. Luckily, neither of us were battling allergies that day, so we could dive into his partnership with Zyrtec without the usual unsexy symptoms brought on by the 31-year-old actor’s (and my) biggest allergen nemesis: pollen. Ahead, he shares the wellness essentials that help him look and feel his best—even during allergy season. Check them out ahead.
Chase Stokes’ favorite allergy medicine
“As long as I can remember, my mom has worked in the healthcare field—for probably 20 years now—and she’s always been very good about making sure we’re aware of what’s going on with our bodies,” the Outer Banks star, 31, began. “I grew up in Orlando, which is sort of the United States capital of pollen, so my allergies started as soon as we moved there. She was like, ‘Alright, we gotta find a good allergy medication.'” Spoiler alert: That’s how his longstanding relationship with Zyrtec began, a partnership he describes as “supernatural” given its been an organic part of his wellness routine for years. These days, he reaches for the brand’s Dissolve Tabs, which he takes before symptoms even start to keep allergies at bay.
Chakes Stokes’ favorite travel pillow
“There’s a company called Purple and they make mattresses and pillow, and I cannot tell you how much it changed my sleep patterns and my sleep habits,” Stokes explained. “They have these little travel ones that I literally swear by; I really do. I use them in the bed, I take them on flights. I have them in my trailer if I have time to take a nap throughout the day. They stay cold, and I’m a hot sleeper, so for me, having a pillow that stays a little bit cold is incredible.”
Chakes Stokes’ favorite undereye masks
When I asked Stokes about his skin-care must-haves, he didn’t hesitate to share his go-to: the Jaxon Lane Bro Mask Cooling Eye Gels With Bakuchiol. “Their whole skin-care line is catered to men—and the packaging is cool,” Stokes said of the brand. “My groomer, Marissa Machado, turned me onto them, so now I just keep them in my fridge and before I go to work or before I start the day, I just slap them on and have my cup of coffee.”
Chase Stokes’ favorite supplement
“I’m a huge fan of like Liquid I.V. or any powdered electrolytes in my water,” said Stokes. “They’re so easy to travel with.” He explained that being at altitude, such as on a plane, noticeably dehydrates his body, so he mixes one of these into his water to replenish himself. Naturally, I couldn’t resist asking which flavor he prefers, and he had an impressively quick reply: “I used to just be like the basic lemon lime, but they have a raspberry kind now, which is so good, too.”
